SPIRITUALIST MANUAL ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL SPIRITUALIST ASSOCIATION OF THE UNITED STATES
Book Details + Condition: National Spiritualist Association (Washington, DC). Fourth Edition, 1928. Hardcover. 195 pages with Index. Illustrated with b&w photographs. This is the yearly manual of the National Spiritualist Association, an organization which was founded in 1893 and exists to this day. The National Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC) is one of the oldest and largest of the national Spiritualist church organizations in the U.S. Early NSA leaders hoped the organization would help promote the truths of the religion both spiritually and practically. The organization helps non-Spiritualists distinguish genuine mediumship from the rapidly proliferating varieties of fraudulent mediumship, increase communication among Spiritualists, prevent the legal prosecution of spirit mediums under fortune telling and medical licensing laws, and counterattacks by orthodox ministers in the press. The manual includes details of the organization and of the structure of the association, along with spiritual prayers and invocations used to contact and explore the Spirit World.
