Illustrated with vibrant hand-colored frontispiece showing the gypsy fortuneteller performing a palmistry reading on children. 64 pages. A supernatural divination children's story by a well known Victorian children's author from the mid-19th century, "Aunt Mary" or Mary Hughes. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; wear to boards; ends of spine worn off; some foxing and age-darkening to pages; interior is otherwise clean of markings, save teacher's inscription from 1864.
