Rust colored cloth boards with black lettering. In very good condition: binding and boards are tight and solid; minimal shelf wear; rare dust jacket has some chipping but still holds the book firmly, and shows the original price. The pages and illustrations are bright, crisp and clean with no interior marking. On the second blank page is an ink hand drawing of Pepi and his Golden Hawk, as well as a hand-written Christmas dedication signed by the illustrator, Katharine Dewey. Riding on the popularity of the Egyptian and Tutankhamen craze, this book was written with children in mind.
