For Volume 1-2: pages are crisp and clean save for some spots of foxing along the borders on the first two blank pages, frontispiece and title page. All other pages are crisp and clean. For Volume 3-4: crisp clean pages free and free of interior markings. Profusely illustrated, with nearly 1,500 vignette and full-page engravings across all volumes.
