Includes 90 colored lithographic illustrations from original drawings by the author, F. Edward Hulme. Each lithograph retains its original tissue guard. First through third series, with each series corresponding to each of the three volumes. Hulme presents thorough descriptions of each flower, as well as their habitats and uses in medicine, along with colored lithographic plates. Frederick Edward Hulme (1841-1909) was a botanist best known for this work. For each volume: Firm binding; lightly rubbed corners and edges; minor age and wear to boards; chafed spine ends; toning and light foxing to endpapers, with intermittent light foxing and toning to pages; interior is clean and free of markings. Vol II has small chip to spine.
