A beautiful and rare book — "Stalking Big Game with A Camera in Equatorial Africa With a Monograph on the African Elephant," by Marius Maxwell, from 1924. First edition, 311 pages (with index). Wonderful photography of African animals from nearly 100 years ago, plus commentary of an early 20th-century noted photographer. The boards and binding are solid and tight with light shelfwear and slightly bent corners. The pages are crisp and clean save some light foxing on one of the frontispiece photos and the top of page 46. A wonderful early 20th-century photodocumentation of African wildlife, sadly much of which is rapidly disappearing.
