Profusely illustrated with the famous hand-colored engravings of medicinal plants. Culpeper's Complete Herbal includes additional illustrated examples of medicinal plants, with copious explanation of healing and occult properties by the author Ebenezer Sibly. The original version of Culpeper's English Physician and Complete Herbal was published in 1652, and did not originally include illustrations. In 1790, an illustrated version of the book was produced with drawings done by Ebenezer Sibly (1751 - 1799), an English physician, astrologer and ardent writer on the occult. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; wear to marbled boards, with rubbing and fading present; boards appear to have been re-attached at some point (not unexpected, due to book's age and size); interior is clean and free of markings, save small stain (tea??) to lower corner of pp 237-321.
