Book Details + Condition: Scarce first edition, complete two-volume set from 1867 of Dante Allighieri's Divine Comedy, with 135 beautiful full-page woodcut illustrations by Gustav Dore. Translated by Wilhelm Kriger. Published by Moeser Publishing Co (Berlin). Three Divine Comedy books in two folio volumes, with a total of 515 pages and measuring 12" x 15". Ornate gilt-decorated dark red full leather boards, with gilt on all sides. All engravings retain their original tissue papers. In very good condition: both volumes have minor shelfwear; mild wear to edges and corners; numbers on spines, but no other library markings present; binding is tight; former owner's name on inside front boards; interior is otherwise clean and unmarked save normal occasional age-toning.
