Surrealist novella by German Dada/Merz artist Kurt Schwimmers, translated from German to French by Robert Valançay, and featuring "Fiat Modes," eight drawings by German-American Surrealist artist Max Ernst. Part of the Golden Age (L'Age D'Or) Collection of Henri Parisot, a French editor and associate of the Surrealists. The story follows two people who win a group of animals, and serves as a humorous critique of the bourgeoisie in typical irreverent Dada fashion. Normal wear to soft covers, including toning, chipping to edges, and wear to top hinge (holding but delicate); interior is clean and free of markings.
