As explained on page two, this piece was originally published in The Fortnightly Review, April 1881, and NEVER printed in book form until this authorized private printing of only 299 copies in the year 1899. The boards and binding are in excellent condition. Some rubbing of the gilded letters on spine. The pages are hand cut, crisp and clean with exception for two very small marks on title page. (First few pages are uncut.) A very rare book from Stevenson.
