Book Details + Condition: C. Arthur Pearson Ltd. (London). First Edition, 1918. Scarce. Hardcover (with slightly flexible boards) measuring 7.25" x 5". 110 pages. An uncommon collection of supernatural and horror stories collected from THE NOVEL MAGAZINE. Two collections of weird tales were pulled from the famous magazine, and published in 1916 and 1918 as Uncanny Stories and More Uncanny Stories. The Novel Magazine was a major avenue for up-and-coming late 19th and early 20th century supernatural and horror writers as a venue to publish their works. The stories include traditional hauntings, vengeful spirits, cursed objects, and aid from the afterlife. Tales included in this collection are The Mailed Foot, The Pipers of Mallory, Visiting Rounds, The Jungle, The Haunted Chessmen, The Eighth Lamp, and Bill Dixon Stands By.

From the massive occult collection of King Lawrence Parker - academic, dissertation author, and book collector extraordinaire. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; light aging and wear to boards; book slightly cocked; Parker's info to ffep (with a crease present); age toning to pages; interior is clean and free of markings.
