Rare first edition, first printing of "Our Village" by Mary Russell Mitford, from 1879. This edition is noted for its rare woodblock prints, heavily illustrated by artists such as C.O. Murray and W.H.J. Boot. 150 woodblock prints in total. Dark red boards with gilt decorations and writing; 170 pages. The boards and binding are solid and tight. Stain to front and back boards. Remains of library paste downs on inside boards. Thick card gilt fore-edge pages are crisp and generally clean, save for some light foxing on title page and sporadic foxing mainly on the borders of some of the pages.
