Book Details + Condition: Company of Stationers (London, UK). First Edition, 1792. Flexible leather covers. Three almanacs from the year 1792, bound together, by Thomas Moore, John Partridge, and Robert White. The three year-long almanacs each contain 12 issues, with approximately 48 pages for each almanac. Illustrated. Front cover has been re-attached at some point, but binding remains firm; heavy wear to leather covers - front cover serves as a mini-folder (perhaps an old rebinding job?); interior is clean and free of markings, save very old stamp to title page. The book includes the following almanacs:
- THE COELESTIAL ATLAS; OR, A NEW EPHEMERIS FOR THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1792: Volume by self-identified teacher of mathematics Robert White, which is subtitled in part "...being bissextile, or leap-year, wherein are contained the heliocentrick and geocentrick places of the planets...and other remarkable phenomena that will happen this year, carefully computed from the tables of Dr. Edmund Halley...also, a compleat almanack containing the feasts and fasts of the Church of England...to which are added, several useful tables..."
- VOX STELLARUM: OR A LOYAL ALMANACK FOR THE YEAR OF HUMAN REDEMPTION 1792: Thomas Moore's interesting almanac for the era, with planetary movements and observations; tide tables; eclipses of the sun and moon; astrological observations of each season; and more. Includes a woodcut showing the burning of religious idols.
- MERLINUS LIBERATUS, BEING AN ALMANACK FOR THE YEAR OF OUR REDEMPTION, 1792: John Partridge's almanac for the leap-year "and from the Creation of the World, according to the best history". Includes tables on planetary movements; eclipses of the sun and moon; astronomical and astrological observations of the sun, moon and stars; and more.
