Raphael's Ancient Manuscript Of Talismanic Magic Containing Nearly One Hundred Rare Talismanic Diagrams, Seals of Spirits, Charms, Magical Squares, and Pentacles for Orations and Invocation of Elementary Spirits, and the Magical Ritual of Their Conjuration. Explaining Their Influence and Hidden Powers. Recondite Wisdom by Raphael.

Book Details + Condition: The De Laurence Co. (Chicago), 1916. Hardcover. 104 pages, with illustrations of sigils, seals and talismans throughout. By Raphael (Robert T. Cross), and "edited" by L.W. de Laurence. Grimoire or guide for the use of talismans, seals, charms, and other glyphs in ritual magick. The text is a facsimile of a hand-written manuscript by Raphael, from 1879. This manuscript was drawn largely from a manuscript translation of "The Key or Clavis of Rabbi Solomon" that had belonged to Ebenezer Sibly (c. 1749-c. 1800), to which was added some extra material from the work of Cornelius Agrippa and Francis Barrett. This edition was published by Lauron William de Laurence (1868–1936). De Laurence was notorious for taking other people's works and reissuing them under his own name (sometimes re-titling them in the process).

Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; owner name to half-title page, as well as a few pages with (pink) underlining and small written-in astrological symbols.
