 Publisher: Richard Watts (Cambridge). A very rare first stereotyped edition of "The Book of Common Prayer" from 1806. Watts printed only a handful of editions of the Book of Common Prayer for Cambridge University between 1804 and 1808, including the first stereotyped edition, making surviving copies very rare. Gilt-embossed full leather boards and binding, with gilt to all edges. Binding is firm, with the beginnings of separation at top edge. Light wear to boards, with rubbing to leather corners and edges. Previous owner's inscription on first blank page from a husband to his wife dated 1801.
