Subtitled "A history of the lives, sufferings and triumphant deaths of many of the primitive as well as Protestant martyrs; from the commencement of Christianity to the latest periods of Pagan and Popish persecution, to which is added an account on the Inquisition, the Bartholomew Massacre of France, the general persecution under Louis XIV, the massacre in the Irish Rebellion of the year 1641." Noted to be compiled by an American editor, and illustrated with several pages of engravings. Tight binding; rubbed corners and edges; rubbing and fraying to spine edges; shelf wear to leather boards; foxing throughout (more in the front); very old pencil writing (faded) on front endpapers.
