THE BROTHERHOOD OF LIGHT: HORARY ASTROLOGY (VIII)

Book Details + Condition: The Church of Light (Los Angeles, CA). First Edition, 1930. Hardcover. 256 pages. Illustrated. The Brotherhood of Light lessons focus on the three branches of occult science, and were written between 1910 and 1950 by Elbert Benjamine (also known as C.C. Zain, and born Benjamin Parker Williams). The organization’s members proposed to Benjamine that he rewrite the order’s teachings in a systematic form as the basis for a new organization that would “bring occultism to the life of ordinary people." The 21-volume Brotherhood of Light lessons were the result, and members participate in a system of written examinations covering each volume. Each examination passed, advances the member one degree. Seven volumes each are devoted to astrology, alchemy, and magic. Students who complete all 21 degrees (including examinations) are awarded a “Hermetician’s Certificate”. This volume contains 7 issues from 1930-1948, now bundled into one hardcover: How to Erect a Horoscope; Strength and Aspects of the Planets; First Seven Steps in Judging Any Horoscope; The Doctrine of Horary Astrology; Questions Relating to the First Six Houses; How to Select the Best Time for Any Undertaking; and Chart Erection Short Cuts and Examples. In very good condition, with firm binding; fading to spine's gilt; normal age-toning present; owner's name on front endpaper and 2 pages with small marginal marks.
