Full leather embossed boards with raised bands to spine. Volume by English theologian John Pearson (b. 1613), known in this work as John, Lord Bishop of Chester. Based on lectures given by the author, this book focuses mainly on the Apostles' Creed and dogmatic theory. The text, in English, is flanked by notes in Greek and Latin throughout, as well as biblical citations, and an engraving of the author by English illustrator David Loggan decorates the title pages. An overall firm and clean copy, with tight binding; bumped and rubbed corners and edges; light shelf wear to full leather boards, with some scuffing; chipping to endpapers; natural age-toning to pages; interior is clean and free of markings.
