Hardcover with brown pebbled boards and gilt to front and spine, measuring 9.25" x 6.75". Illustrated. Robert Morris was a renowned American Freemason poet and composer of religious hymns, and creator the Order of the Eastern Star. He composed over 400 poems, many pertaining to the Eastern Star and Freemasonry, and spent many years of his life in the Holy Land. While there, he wrote hymns and poems based on his experiences and discoveries there, and also composed this massive volume, which contains more than 600 pages of information, numerous illustrations and maps of the Holy Land, as well as steel engravings of several Mason leaders of the period.
