Large octavo. 162 pages. Illustrated. Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990) was a Canadian-born occultist, mystic and author best known for his "The Secret Teaching of All Ages." This work focuses on the Egyptian mysteries, and includes a restoration of the "Crata Repoa Rite" which according to Hall "sets forth the principal elements of initiatory drama." "That the gods of Egypt were elements of a profound magical system and possessed a significance far different from that advanced by modern Egyptologists is certain. The various deities of the Nile valley were elements of an elaborate magical metaphysical system, a kind of ceremonial Cabbala." Despite the title the book has little to do with Freemasonry - Hall uses it for dramatic purposes. The book does not appear to have been read, and has tight binding, with clean and unmarked interior. Minor wear to dust jacket from storage only, which is protected with a mylar plastic cover.
