HERE AND HEREAFTER was written by the celebrated French medium and spiritualist Léon Denis. Here, he focuses on the transcendental aspects of life as well as the problems of everyday existence, delving into the core of spirituality, and the dogmas of conventional religions. The book is divided into five parts:

- Ancient beliefs and the unifying truths that are found in all of them
- The basic concepts of Spiritism, including the immortality of the soul, the purpose of life, reincarnation, God, and death
- Deeper Spiritist concepts such as spiritual phenomena, nature and science, evolution of the spirit, and charlatanism
- The spiritual world: errant souls, higher life, providence and free will
- Ethical topics such as moral life, faith, consolation, wealth, poverty, and charity.

Léon Denis (1846 – 1927) was a notable French spiritist philosopher and one of the principal exponents of spiritism after the death of Allan Kardec. Denis lectured throughout Europe at international conferences of spiritism and spiritualism, promoting the idea of survival of the soul after death and the implications of this for human relations. He is known as the apostle of French spiritism. [Wikipedia]
