Large hardcover measuring 11.75" x 10". 80 pages. Volume compiled and edited by Charles A. Goldsmith on historical artifacts and writings of the fraternal society of the Freemasons. The book is subtitled "Gathered with camera and pen while searching for more light in the byways of ancient Masonic lore, profusely illustrated, containing many rare articles of Masonic interest, historical, biographical, reminiscent, archaeological, never before published." The book contains brief biographies of men involved in the society, descriptions of rituals and ceremonial objects, historical anecdotes, and more, with black and white photographs and drawn illustrations throughout. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; light wear to boards, with some cloth covering missing in parts; interior is clean and free of markings.
