THE CO=MASON: VOL. VIII, OCTOBER 1916 ISSUE
Book Details + Condition: Office of the Co-Mason (London). Very scarce First Edition journal for October 1916 (Volume 8). Softcover. Approximately 45 pages. Co-Freemasonry is a form of Freemasonry which admits both men and women. It began in France in the 1890s with the forming of Le Droit Humain, and is now an international movement represented by several Co-Freemasonic administrations throughout the world. Most male-only Masonic Lodges do not recognise Co-Freemasonry, holding it to be clandestine. After forming in France, several prominent members of the Theosophical Society joined Co-Freemasonry, including Annie Besant, George Arundale, Charles W. Leadbeater and C. Jinarajadasa. Wherever they took Theosophy, they also introduced Co-Freemasonry.
Each issue begins with a "From the Master's Chair" editorial section, and includes articles on subjects relevant to Freemasonry, such as astrology, magic, ceremony and ritual, mysteries, and more. Articles from this issue include: Voodoo Worship; Craftsman and Saint; The Enlightenment of Job; and more. Please see picture of Table of Contents, for more detail. The journal shows little to no wear, and a clean interior. (Journals don't appear to have been read, and are new-old stock.) Includes a complete Index to 1916 issues. Please see our other listings for more very scarce first editions of The Co=Mason, including entire years and individual issues.
