Facsimile reprint of the original publication, originally released in 1896. By Clemence Annie Housman (1861–1955), author, illustrator and well-known activist in the women's suffrage movement. Hardcover with purple boards and silver titling to front and spine. 123 pages, with illustrations by Laurence Housman. This is Housman's first novel, an allegorical erotic fantasy of which H.P. Lovecraft said “attains a high degree of gruesome tension and achieves to some extent the atmosphere of authentic folklore”.
