Illustrated manual on the techniques and tools of taxidermy, subtitled, "Or the art of collecting, preparing, and preserving objects of natural history. Designed for the use of travellers, conservators of museums, and private collectors." Written by British naturalist Captain Thomas Brown, a curator of the Manchester Museum. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; wear to boards; binding tape to spine; scuffing to front endpaper (with remnant of bookplate); interior is clean and free of markings.
