OSTEOGRAPHIA OR ANATOMY OF THE BONES - WILLIAM CHESELDEN
Book Details + Condition: Editions Medicina Rara (Ilkley, UK). Limited and First Edition, 1968. Large elephant hardcover folio (13.5" x 19"). 395 pages. Includes 112 engraved plates of the skeletal system. The book is an authentic reproduction of William Cheselden's work "Osteographia or Anatomy of the Bones" (1733), which is universally recognized as one of the most important and beautiful books in the British anatomical tradition. Cheselden had two principal goals in creating the "Osteographia": to provide the most accurate study of the human skeleton to date, and to create the most attractive atlas of Osteology. Much has been written about the Osteographia and its place in the history of medicine, but little has been written about its stunning, accurate engravings.
