The author, David Fraser Fraser-Harris (1867 – 1937), was a Scottish Professor of physiology a writer with an interest in parapsychology who was associated with the National Laboratory of Psychical Research and attended various spiritualist séances with well-known mediums such as Helen Duncan and Rudi Schneider.
