THE CO=MASON: VOL. XXXI, APRIL 1939 ISSUE

Book Details + Condition: Office of the Co-Mason (London). Very scarce First Edition journal for April 1939 (Volume 31). Softcover. Approximately 45 pagesCo-Freemasonry is a form of Freemasonry which admits both men and women. It began in France in the 1890s with the forming of Le Droit Humain, and is now an international movement represented by several Co-Freemasonic administrations throughout the world. Most male-only Masonic Lodges do not recognise Co-Freemasonry, holding it to be clandestine. After forming in France, several prominent members of the Theosophical Society joined Co-Freemasonry, including Annie Besant, George Arundale, Charles W. Leadbeater and C. Jinarajadasa. Wherever they took Theosophy, they also introduced Co-Freemasonry.

Each issue begins with a "From the Master's Chair" editorial section, and includes articles on subjects relevant to Freemasonry, such as astrology, magic, ceremony and ritual, mysteries, and more. Articles from this issue include: Egyptian Excavations and Great Finds; The Pillars of Freemasonry; and more. Please see picture of Table of Contents, for more detail. The journal shows little to no wear, and doesn't appear to have been read (new-old stock). Firm binding; minor shelf wear; and clean interior. Please see our other listings for more very scarce first editions of The Co=Mason, including entire years and individual issues.
