THE CO=MASON: VOL. VIII, QUARTERLY ISSUES for JANUARY, APRIL, JULY, OCTOBER 1916

Book Details + Condition: Office of the Co-Mason (London). Very scarce First Edition journals for the entire year of 1916 (Volume 8). Softcovers. Approximately 45 pages per issueCo-Freemasonry is a form of Freemasonry which admits both men and women. It began in France in the 1890s with the forming of Le Droit Humain, and is now an international movement represented by several Co-Freemasonic administrations throughout the world. Most male-only Masonic Lodges do not recognise Co-Freemasonry, holding it to be clandestine. After forming in France, several prominent members of the Theosophical Society joined Co-Freemasonry, including Annie Besant, George Arundale, Charles W. Leadbeater and C. Jinarajadasa. Wherever they took Theosophy, they also introduced Co-Freemasonry.

Each issue begins with a "From the Master's Chair" editorial section, and includes articles on subjects relevant to Freemasonry, such as astrology, magic, ceremony and ritual, mysteries, and more. Articles from this grouping of issues include: Voodoo Worship; Notes on the Tau; The Rite of Memphis; Chinese Buddhist Temple; Jewels of the Officers; The Sphinx; Craftsman and Saint; and much more. Please see pictures of Table of Contents, for more detail. The October issue includes an insert, THE CO-MASON Index. This grouping shows little to no wear, and don't appear to have been read. All issues have firm binding; minor shelf wear (the July issue shows discoloration to covers, but it does not bleed to interior); and clean interiors. Please see our other listings for more very scarce first editions of The Co=Mason, including entire years and individual issues.
