Parker, this volume is subtitled "A medical treatise on nervous and physical debility, spermatorrhoea, impotence, and sterility, practical observations on the treatment of diseases of the generative organs." Chapter topics include anatomy and physiology, and are primarily focused on spermatorrhoea, or "seminal weakness," a condition spoken of in the 19th century as unhealthy - and excessive ejaculation, which was purported to cause many physical issues. Decorative embossed cloth binding with gilt detail and "Know Thyself" lettering to cover. Firm binding; rubbed corners and edges; light wear to boards; rubbing to title page, which has caused small hole in paper; interior is clean and free of markings, save owner info to front free endpaper.
