The 85th Chemical Mortar Battalion was activated on June 5, 1943, in Texas and later saw combat in the Pacific Theater During World War II, participating in campaigns in the Bismarck Archipelago, Leyte, Luxon, New Guinea and the Philippines. The book not only details the military campaigns but also base life including social activities and a roster of the unit's soldiers.
An extremely scarce copy with firm binding; light shelf wear to boards, with minor rubbing present; interior is clean and free of markings. Includes a typed vintage listing of soldiers' home addresses in the US after the war. All books are carefully packed, and shipped in boxes.
