Pamphlet written by American lawyer and historian Abner Cheney Goodell, Jr. on the aftermath of the 1692 Salem witch trials and their influence on United States law, specifically in regard to a 1711 act which reversed the attainders on the convicted, giving them their titles and land back, or restitution for losses during imprisonment. This essay spawned a debate with fellow American historian George Henry Moore, who published his response under the title "Final Notes on Witchcraft in Massachusetts" a first edition work also available for sale at Black Cat Caboodle. Binding remains firm, but original front cover has torn off & re-attached (and shows wear to extremities); interior is clean and free of markings. The work has not been read, as the pages remain uncut.
