Ringgold was a celebrated American painter, author, mixed media sculptor, performance artist, and intersectional activist, perhaps best known for her narrative quilts. In the book, Ringgold tells the story of young Cassie, who, with the help of Harriet Tubman as her guide, retraces the steps escaping slaves took on the real Underground Railroad. In very good condition, with minor shelf wear only. Interior is clean and free of markings, save Ringgold's signature.
