Bensusan, he states: In this book, they present the reader with a case for abstention from sensuality, crime and the "poison" of alcohol, nicotine, meat, serums and the rest; they plead for the freedom of pettiness. Bensusan also wrote in 1896 on the mistreatment of performing animals for the English Illustrated Magazine that created a storm and, ultimately, led to the enactment of an Act of Parliament to prevent cruelty to performing animals. In his work "Spirit of the Unborn," a mixture of poetry and inspired prose, he writes: "I am here to entreat you to prepare for me, the Spirit of the unborn children of the Coming Race." The work describes individual transformation and freedom to the coming social and spiritual changes that many early 20th-century Theosophists anticipated. Tight binding; lightly rubbed corners; light shelf wear to boards, with some mottling / discoloration to rear; remnants of a bookplate on front inside board; interior is clean and free of markings.
