Book Details + Condition: Frederick A. Stokes (New York and Philadelphia), 1943. Stated First Edition hardcover with scarce dust jacket. Measures approximately 7" x 8.75". Illustrated by the author, Lois Lenski. Tight binding; light shelf wear to boards, with some darkening; slight lean to book; text is clean and unmarked. Scarce dust jacket has wear, mainly at edges and corners; there is a chunk missing from the bottom spine of the jacket. It remains unclipped, with the original price still present. A great southern fictional story about a little Bayou girl, with wonderful illustrations throughout.
