Divided into five sections titled, respectively, "The History of Atlantis," "The Deluge," "The Civilization of the Old World and New Compared," "The Mythologies of the Old World: A Recollection of Atlantis," and "The Colonies of Atlantis." Donnelly proposes that all ancient civilizations descended from the surviving population of Atlantis after a cataclysmic flood destroyed the lost land. Illustrations throughout.
