DIARY OF COTTON MATHER - VOLUME I (1681 - 1708), VOLUME II (1709 - 1724)

Book Details + Condition: Frederick Ungar Publishers (New York). Early Edition, 1957 (nd). Complete two-volume hardcover set with dust jackets. Pagination: 604pp; 818pp; with Index. Fold-out facsimile map of "The Town of Boston" to Vol II. From the dust jacket: "A document of unusual interest in America's history, by the famous New Englander of colonial times. Cotton Mather's international reputation as a preacher, a prolific author, and a scholar of wide interests is reflected in this many-sided Diary." Volume I spans 1681 - 1708, and Volume II spans 1709 - 1724.

From the massive occult collection of King Lawrence Parker - academic, dissertation author, and book collector extraordinaire. Both volumes are in very good condition, with firm binding; Parker's bookplate to inside front board and embossed stamp to title page; interior is clean and free of markings. The upper text block of both volumes appears to have been stained slightly by the teal boards, but it does not affect the interior pages. Dust jackets show normal wear, with rubbing - they retain their original prices.
