An account of the life of American missionary David Brainerd, who had success proselytizing to the Delaware tribe of Native Americans in New Jersey during the 18th century. The contents of this volume are "chiefly extracted from his diary," with a preface by famed theologian Jonathan Edwards (named here as President Edwards of Princeton University), writer of the influential sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." Spine is embossed with gilt lettering. Covers appear to have been reattached, but binding remains tight; rubbed corners and edges; light shelf to boards; damage to spine exterior, with small section missing and includes call number; age toning and foxing present to pages; interior is otherwise free of markings, save "Orange S.S. Library" in pen on inside front board.
