Documenting the summer travel of George William Curtis, author and civil rights activist. The author's third book, a recounting of sights in various New York State locations associated with summer travel (particularly along the Hudson River), plus Niagra, the Catskills, Trenton, Nahant and Newport. Noteworthy for the engraved illustrations after drawings by Hudson River School artist John Frederick Kensett. Tight binding; bumped and rubbed corners, edges and spine ends; periodic aging and discoloration to pages; interior is unmarked save owner info on front inside board.
