Book Details + Condition: Le Pelletier, Imprimeur Lithographe (Paris). Scarce First Edition, 2-volume set (1867). Volume 1: 378 pp; Volume 2: 369 pp. By Anatole le Pelletier. Brown cloth boards with leather binding; embossed titles on each spine, with gilt. Written in the original French language. Vol 1: 378 pages; Vol 2: 369 pages. Both volumes are in very good condition, with minor shelf wear; firm binding; wear to gilded title (etc) on spine; and no interior writing or markings save former owner's name on title page of Vol 1, and ex-libris present after title pages of each book. Pelletier's work is considered to be the best written and studied of Nostradamus, far ahead of all other commentators (including from the 20th century). Volume 1 contains the interpretations of many quatrains, most of which are repeated by his successors in the exegesis of the text of the Centuries (Benazra). Volume 2 reproduces the apocryphal editions of Lyon falsely dated 1566 and 1568, as well as supplements of the edition of 1605.
