PRINCIPIA DISCORDIA

Book Details + Condition: Loompanics Unlimited (Port Townsend, WA). Fourth edition, 1979. Scarce edition, with no ISBN present to rear cover. Softcover. 95 pages. First published text of the beliefs of the Discordian religion, a form of worship of Eris, the ancient Greek goddess of chaos. This volume was written by Malaclypse the Younger (Greg Hill) and Lord Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst (Kerry Wendell Thornley), both American counterculture figures active in the 20th century. It is subtitled "Or how I found Goddess and what I did to her when I found her," and includes writings on astrology, cosmology, holy figures, the Illuminati, and the tenants of the religion. It is noted for its use of humor to obscure the nature of the movement, whether serious or satirical. Illustrations throughout, with bright yellow paper covers. In very good condition, with firm binding and a clean interior.
