Rare copy of Andree's Handatlas by Richard Andree, first edition, first printing with 96 beautifully engraved maps plus 98 pages of descriptions and commentary of each map, all in excellent overall condition. Dark red cloth boards with three-quarter leather binding. The boards and binding are solid and tight with slight scuffing to boards and rubbing on the spine and board corners. The maps are crisp and clean save spots of light border foxing on maps on pages 5 and 11. The map on pages 42-43 has slight discoloration near lower part of the binding. The maps currently are for sale on ebay at $20/map. Measures: 12" x 16" or 30cm x 41cm. Here is a great opportunity to own the entire first-edition volume by a leading authority on cartography during the late 19th century.
