Publisher: Edinburgh University Press Printed For Archibald Constable, Edinburgh (1805)
First edition, first printing from 1805 of the "Poems of Ossian" by Henry Mackenzie. Leather spine with marbled boards stating a Reading Library; 343 pages, followed by Errata. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for heavy wear to the boards and previous owner's bookplate (that of Bishop Cilmour), and numerical notation on the inside front board. The hand-cut pages are crisp and clean save for previous owner's name and notation on the title page, as well as an imprinted stamp of a seminary, and a few spots of foxing on a few of the pages. A very scarce first edition of the well known Scottish literature.
