The boards and binding are solid and tight with some shelfwear. The pages are crisp and clean. Small binder's label on inside front board. The book is a reference to the “Quaker discipline" which was a compilation of the rules of behavior for Friends bearing on all matters of church government such as qualification, description and transfer of membership; duties of ministers; methods of filing appeals; and attitudes toward marriage. From its earliest days, London Yearly Meeting issued epistles which contained advices concerning behavior of members of the Society of Friends. This is the first edition, first printing for the year 1838. Measures 5.5" x 3.75".
