ANTIQUE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA — SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY CERAMIC OR CLAY SEAL 1885 — Georgia Institute of Technology
Very scarce, University of Georgia, School of Technology, currently renamed as Georgia Institute of Technology or Georgia Tech ceramic or clay school seal, circa late 19th early 20th century. The seal portrays the "Progress and Service" emblem with a brownish / greenish glaze and is dated 1885. The seal is in excellent condition, with little wear. Please see pictures for overall condition. On the back are the remains of a now removed tag. Measures 9" in diameter and 1" in thickness. The piece originated from the estate of an of a Georgia Tech professor in Chamblee, Atlanta, Georgia.
