Scarce and detailed ornithological study of British birds in a two-volume set, with numerous lovely hand-colored engravings / lithographs. The first volume was published in 1894, and 1896 for the second. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for some rubbing and shelfwear. Slight lean to both books. Leather bindings with marbled boards. Books measure 8" x 5.5". The pages and beautiful hand-colored lithographic engravings are crisp and clean with a number of pages still uncut. Volume I: 342 pages; Volume II: 308 pages, with publisher book advertisements at rear.
