Very scarce, as it was a restricted publication of the 9th Air Defense Command. This World War II command, established in July 1944, provided air defense for liberated areas of Western Europe, including France and the Low Countries. Its statistical and historical summary, which covers January 1944 - June 1945, notes its support of ground forces through armed reconnaissance during major operations like the Normandy breakout and Operation Market-Garden. The command was also responsible for defending liberated airfields, ports, and other critical areas, and had a significant anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) component.
A scarce publication in good condition, with firm binding; light aging and wear to boards; chipping to upper spine end; periodic age-toning present; officer's name to inside front board; 7-8 pp with now-faint red pencilled underlining. Original dust jacket has darkening, and is now protected with a mylar cover. All books are carefully packed, and shipped in boxes.
