A VERY RARE edition from 1854 (first edition) to cotton spinning. Dark red boards with gilt lettering; 252 pages. The boards and binding are solid and tight. Some chipping to spine ends and worn corners. The pages are crisp and generally clean, save for a few pages of light foxing present on pages 2-5, 141-148 and 242-248. A very rare look into the process and management of the cotton spinning industry written during the height of cotton innovation and production.
