Details + Condition: Antique French book from 1779 with hollowed-out secret compartment, otherwise known as a book safe or stash box. Great for hiding valuables. Entire book measures 5" x 8" x 2" in length, width and height; inner compartment measures 6" long x 3.5" wide. Book shows wear to leather, with small chip to lower outer spine. Also appears that front board was re-attached in its life as a full book (it remains solid).
