Book Details + Condition: 1909 edition of a book that was much reprinted in a revised edition during the turn of the century, and also more recently. Original maroon boards with gilt; 471 pages with illustrations. Tuttle wrote books on science and Spiritualism. Book title page is dated 1860 with an 1859 copyright; this is an early edition. Dr. Densmore’s Introduction includes memoirs of Emanuel Swedenborg, A.J. Jackson, Hudson Tuttle, Cora Richmond, and W.J. Colville; and since all are described here as “psychics”, will serve to indicate the scope and character of the volume. Its subtitle, “The History and Laws of Creation,” shows its ambitious aim. Dr. Densmore was impressed with the phenomena to which attention is directed in this volume, and he feels they deserve consideration “from the psychic student as well as from the general public.” In very good condition: tight binding; bumped and rubbed corners; rubbing to edges and spine ends; light shelfwear to boards; text is clean and unmarked.
